“There’s just not enough time to do everything...”

Guyzance Hall is the ideal venue for a holiday or long weekend with so much to see and do on the estate and in the surrounding area. The number of guests that we have returning each year is testament to the attraction of Guyzance and the amazing county of Northumberland. From fishing and sporting activities to spa treatments and fine dining, your stay at Guyzance will be packed with things to do for every taste.

Fishing and Sports

The River Coquet is arguably one of the best in the north for catching salmon and sea trout and Guyzance has its own fishing rights along a 3½ mile stretch of bank. Guests staying at Guyzance Hall and in the Guyzance Cottages can book to fish for one or more days. Rates vary according to time of year and number of days, but it includes the help and advice of our experienced ghillie. He will meet you and show you the best spots along the river, teaching you basics if you require them and then leaving you to enjoy the experience. Guests should provide their own equipment, rods and a fishing permit, obtainable from any Post Office. For more information about fishing at Guyzance, please contact us.

There are several good shooting grounds in the vicinity and we can arrange for guests staying at Guyzance to enjoy a day’s shooting. There are also numerous walks suitable for all abilities as well as fantastic cycle routes – around the estate and further afield in the Northumberland National Park or along coastal paths.

Relax and pamper yourself

Where better to enjoy a spot of relaxation than Guyzance Hall? Whether you unwind by curling up with a book or taking a long walk, you will find few places as peaceful and tranquil as Guyzance. The hidden nooks and crannies in the Hall’s private gardens or the ancient woods on the estate have a calming effect on all of our guests. If you feel like allowing someone else to help you relax we have the perfect nearby destination, Doxford Hall Hotel and Spa.  Just a short drive away, Doxford Hall’s amazing spa offers state of the art treatments.

We can arrange a half or full day’s spa package, including treatments, or just the use of the facilities for a day. Alternatively, we can also arrange for a beautician to come to Guyzance Hall to give manicures, pedicures and massages.

 Culinary delight

Northumberland is renowned for its wonderful seafood, fish and cheeses and is a food lover’s paradise. We can recommend some incredible restaurants in the area, like the exquisite Eshott Hall, at which chef Chris Wood creates beautiful dishes from local produce and ingredients from their own kitchen garden – an amazing fine dining experience.

There are also some fantastic places to visit and enjoy local delicacies to take home with you – Doddington Dairy for ice cream and cheese,
Chain Bridge Honey Farm, and L Robson & Sons for Craster kippers are just some suggestions.

History and dramatic scenery

History really does come alive in Northumberland, a county renowned for having the most castles and fortified buildings in England. Visit the award winning Alnwick Castle, impressive Bamburgh Castle or explore the ruins of Warkworth Castle.

No visit to Northumberland is complete without a trip to the magnificent Hadrian’s Wall and Holy Island of Lindisfarne. There are also some beautiful stately homes and gardens in the area such as Belsay Hall, Howick Hall and Cragside. Northumberland’s coastline is as dramatic as its history with sweeping golden sands and rocky outcrops.

Take a trip to the Farne Islands with stunning wildlife including puffins and grey seals. Discover traditional fishing villages and coastal hamlets along the route.

Whatever your interests, you will never be short of things to do at Guyzance.
